ABOUT THE COMPANY

The Chief Retail Growth Officer (CRGO) is responsible for driving business growth by identifying, prospecting, and acquiring new CPG clients across various retail channels. This dynamic role emphasizes strategic development for client acquisition, retention, partnerships, and cross-selling, ensuring sustained revenue growth through proactive lead generation and relationship-building. Additionally, we are seeking a visionary leader with a proven ability to bring in new and emerging brands, positioning them for success in evolving retail landscapes.
Key Responsibilities

Business Development Strategy & Execution

Develop and execute strategies to accelerate client growth, including targeting emerging and established brands.

Create selling plans and drive new client acquisition, with active participation in trade shows, summits, and industry events.
Market Research & Trend Identification

Conduct market research to identify emerging retail trends and competitive opportunities.

Adjust growth strategies to align with and stay ahead of shifts in consumer and retail behaviors.
Strategic Partnerships & Alliances

Build and maintain relationships with key partners, including CPG companies, suppliers, distributors, and PE groups.

Lead negotiations and secure partnerships with prospective clients, with a focus on high-growth opportunities for emerging brands.
Sales Pipeline Management

Oversee the sales pipeline from prospecting to closing, ensuring data-driven decision-making.

Regularly report on sales metrics and forecasts, ensuring smooth handoffs to delivery teams post-signing.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Leadership

Lead and mentor the Business Development team to achieve KPIs and foster a high-performance culture.

Integrate business development strategies with overall company growth objectives.
Closing & Negotiation

Spearhead contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms, clear client expectations, and alignment with business goals.

Monitor post-sale activities for client satisfaction, fostering opportunities for retention and cross-selling.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
-
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Retail Management, or a related field (MBA preferred).
Experience
-
15+ years in business development or sales within the sales agency community, with proven success across all retail channels (e.g., Club, Mass, Grocery, Convenience).

Demonstrated success in driving revenue growth and acquiring clients, particularly within the emerging brand sector.
Skills

Strong strategic thinking, negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills.

Proficiency with sales and CRM tools (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).
