DIGITAL DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT

Location: Los Angeles CA, (open to PST and CST time zones)
Reports to: Chief Digital Growth Officer

ABOUT THE ROLE
This role is focused on driving new business for our Digital division which includes Amazon.com, Walmart.com, Online Media Buying, Retail Media Tiktok, and other online marketplaces. We are seeking a scrappy and resourceful Director of Business Development to lead our efforts in driving new business and forging strategic partnerships. This role is critical to our mission of achieving high growth, and we need someone who is entrepreneurial, versatile, and passionate about scaling brands. You will play a hands-on role in sourcing leads, closing deals, and influencing the direction of our business development strategy.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

​

Lead Generation & Prospecting:

  • Identify and source potential client opportunities through research, outreach, and networking.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to develop target client profiles and prospect lists.
     

Sales & Client Acquisition:

  • Own the end-to-end sales process, from initial outreach to closing deals.

  • Develop compelling presentations, proposals, and pitches to potential clients.

  • Consistently hit or exceed monthly and quarterly revenue targets.
     

Strategic Asset Creation:

  • Partner with internal teams to create sales assets (case studies, decks, one-pagers, etc.) that effectively communicate
    our value proposition.

  • Work closely with marketing to ensure alignment between demand generation campaigns and sales outreach efforts.
     

Market Strategy & Thought Leadership:

  • Stay informed about industry trends, competitive landscapes, and emerging opportunities to refine our value proposition.

  • Represent the company at conferences, events, and client meetings as a key ambassador of our brand.
     

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work alongside leadership to refine our go-to-market strategy.

  • Partner with operations, account management, and other teams to ensure a seamless client onboarding experience.

 

QUALIFICATIONS & EDUCTION

  • Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, or a related field. An MBA or other advanced degree is a plus.​

 

 

EXPERIENCE

  • 5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally in a digital marketing, eCommerce, or marketplace growth agency.

  • A proven track record of closing high-value deals and exceeding sales targets.

  • Ability to independently source leads, build a robust pipeline, and prioritize effectively.

  • Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.

  • Experience in building or refining sales materials and processes.

  • An entrepreneurial mindset with a willingness to roll up your sleeves and “wear multiple hats.

  • Passion for helping brands grow on platforms like Amazon, Walmart.com, and other online marketplaces

  • Proven ability to drive sales and business growth through strategic planning, effective negotiations, and closing techniques.

  • Ability to think strategically and make data-driven decisions based on market trends and business intelligence.

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple opportunities and priorities simultaneously.

  • Familiarity with CRM systems (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot) and other sales tools to manage prospects, accounts, and reporting.
