Karen Surgent

​​As the Founder of Spark Talent HQ, a boutique executive search firm, Karen specializes in placing senior and executive leaders across marketing and the financial markets. With nearly 25 years of recruiting experience, she brings the judgment, market insight, and access to the right people when the hire matters most.

She began her career at BBDO New York before moving into a boutique agency environment where she helped build and expand its digital division. She transitioned into executive search more than two decades ago and has since partnered with agencies, growth-stage companies, and financial firms across the U.S.

Working closely with a select group of clients, leading searches with a focused, hands-on approach and a clear understanding of what it takes to build high-performing teams.

Karen lives in New Jersey with her husband and their two children, both students at Virginia Tech.
