About the Role

The SVP, Business Development will play a critical role in leading new client acquisition and driving revenue growth across all retail channels. This executive-level role is responsible for identifying strategic partnerships, cultivating high-level relationships with mid to large-sized CPG brands, and executing sales strategies to secure representation opportunities. Ideal candidates will bring a strong industry network, retail expertise, and a proven track record of success in consultative selling within the sales agency landscape.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead business development efforts to attract and onboard new CPG clients across key retail channels

  • Develop and execute growth strategies to increase client mix and expand service offerings

  • Identify and pursue strategic partnerships and sales opportunities with mid-to-large consumer brands

  • Attend trade shows, summits, and industry events to build pipeline and deepen relationships

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal divisions to ensure a smooth client handoff and strong onboarding experience

  • Maintain pipeline health and forecast performance using CRM tools

  • Lead contract negotiations and ensure successful client onboarding

Skills & Experience Required

  • 15+ years of experience in sales, business development, or client strategy within the agency or CPG industry

  • Extensive network and executive-level relationships across retailers such as Walmart, Costco, Target, and Kroger

  • Expertise across multiple channels: Club, Mass, Grocery, Drug, Value, and Convenience

  • Proven success acquiring new clients and securing long-term partnerships

  • Strong negotiation, communication, and leadership skills

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred

  • Proficiency with CRM systems such as HubSpot, Salesforce, or Microsoft Dynamics
