Role Overview: The President of the Costco Division will be the primary leader responsible for driving the growth and profitability of the division. Reporting directly to the CEO and CBO, the President will oversee all aspects of operations, including business development, sales, client relations, team leadership, and operational execution. This role requires a deep understanding of Costco’s business, procurement processes, and supply chain, as well as experience in brokerage management.

 

KEY RESPONSIBLITIES

 

Strategic Leadership & Division Oversight:

  • Lead the strategic planning and execution of the division’s initiatives, ensuring alignment with client and Costco goals.

  • Develop strategies to increase market share and drive sales across Costco regions.

  • Build strong, long-term relationships with Costco executives and key decision-makers.

  • Analyze market trends to identify growth opportunities.
     

Business Development & Client Relations:

  • Identify new business opportunities and expand client portfolios within Costco.

  • Oversee contract negotiations to ensure mutually beneficial agreements.

  • Cultivate relationships with Costco’s buying teams and suppliers for smooth operations.
     

Sales & Revenue Growth:

  • Develop and implement sales plans to increase product visibility and sales.

  • Monitor performance against sales targets and adjust strategies accordingly.

  • Collaborate on promotional strategies to enhance product visibility.
     

Operations & Supply Chain Management:

  • Oversee daily operations including inventory, product fulfillment, and logistics.

  • Ensure product delivery is timely, cost-effective, and meets Costco's standards.

  • Address operational inefficiencies to ensure smooth functioning across Costco regions.
     

Team Leadership & Development:

  • Lead and mentor a high-performing team, ensuring alignment with company objectives.

  • Provide resources, training, and development opportunities to team members.

  • Set performance metrics and hold the team accountable for targets.
     

Financial Management & Profitability:

  • Develop and manage the division’s budget, ensuring cost-effective revenue growth.

  • Monitor financial performance and recommend strategies to improve outcomes.
     

Risk Management & Compliance:

  • Ensure compliance with regulations, Costco’s policies, and industry standards.

  • Identify risks, such as market fluctuations or supply chain disruptions, and develop mitigation strategies.
     

Brand & Product Strategy:

  • Manage client product portfolios to ensure an optimal product mix.

  • Work with marketing teams to develop branding and promotional campaigns.

  • Monitor product performance to identify opportunities for improvement.

 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Retail Management, Marketing, or related field. MBA preferred.

  • Experience: 15+ years in retail or sales, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role. Proven experience managing large accounts within Costco.

  • Skills: Strong leadership, business acumen, sales management, and negotiation skills. Ability to analyze data and optimize performance. Strong relationship-building with senior executives and suppliers.
